First Aid and CPR

First Aid and CPR are not at present required courses for food handlers and food managers in Texas restaurants. However, no one would deny that the training and certifications would be highly beneficial for food service workers to have.

There are many accidents which could occur in the kitchen, such as burns, falling, cuts, or other injuries. And then there are your highly valued customers who could have a food allergy reaction, heart attack, go into shock, and an incredible list of other problems which could lead to their death if not promptly and properly addressed.

This training is also invaluable when a family member or friend is in need of First aid, or possibly die.

Also, when applying for a food service job, after prooving that you have the state required certifications, it would be very beneficial to you application and chance of being hired if you proved that you take your job seriously, and have taken additional training and have the certifications for them. Any manager would be impressed with that.

And, if you are a certified Texas Food Manager, I consider it to be incompetence to not know this material.

We have therefore incorporated into our training courses the following, which are presented by The American Academy of CPR and First Aid.

All courses were developed by a team of authorized U.S. board certified and licensed medical doctors.
Their nationally recognized certificates are signed by authorized board certified U.S. medical doctors.

At present, these are basic first aid courses. However, I am insisting that the content be better tailored to the food service industry based on my experience. This will take time, but they are fully functional first aid and CPR courses at present, running in beta mode.
